A stunning location nestled along the banks of the Kulsi River. Positioned along the same route that leads to Chandubi Lake, it’s an ideal spot for a day-long picnic. The river has crystal-clear waters during winter and sandy bars for picnics. Boat rides are available starting from Rs. 50 onwards. However, mobile network connectivity is limited in the area. During peak periods, particularly in December and January, the spot tends to get overcrowded. To secure the best spot for your picnic, it’s advisable to arrive early. Nearby, temporary and paid toilet facilities are also accessible.

There is one beautiful waterfall near this spot namely Ranikhamar Kafandonga Waterfall. You can trek a distance of 1.1 km from the picnic spot. Here is the Google map location of the waterfall.

Best Time To Visit Rani Picnic Spot: People visit Ranikhamar and nearby areas yearly. However, if you are going for a picnic then you must visit during November-March. Avoid visiting during peak picnic season (December 15-January 15) as the place is overcrowded.

How To Reach: It is 60 km from Lokhra Chariali, Guwahati and can be reached via Mirza-Rajapara road in one and a half hours.

Ukium Village

Ukium Picnic Spot Near Rani Assam

This place is similar to Ranikhamar Picnic place. Like other picnic places near Rani, it is also situated near the banks of the Kulsi River. The advantage of this spot is that it is less crowded. In addition, there is an eco-park with bamboo cottages to make your stay comfortable. A camping facility is also available for a night stay.

There are as many as four waterfalls near this place. However, these are not located on Google Maps. So, you have to ask the locals and trek a bit to visit these waterfalls.

Best Time To Visit Ukium Picnic Spot: People visit Ukium and nearby areas yearly. However, if you are going for a picnic then you must visit during November-March. Avoid visiting during peak picnic season (December 15-January 15) as the place is overcrowded.

How To Reach: It is 75 km from Lokhra Chariali, Guwahati and can be reached via Chaigaon-Guwahati road in two hours. It can also be reached via Ranikhamar. This place is only a few kilometres from Rani Picnic Spot.

Chandubi Lake is an all-season tourist destination and picnic spot near Rani, Guwahati. The winter months, from December to February, are particularly favoured by most visitors due to the pleasant weather. However, each season brings its unique charm to Chandubi.

The summer time of the year attracts fewer visitors, creating an opportunity for those seeking solitary moments amidst nature’s tranquillity. For birdwatchers, September to December is the best season, as the area is visited by migratory birds during these months.

You can visit Chandubi during the first week of January month to watch the Chandubi festival.

How To Reach: The Chandubi Lake is 61 km from the city of Guwahati. If you are travelling from Guwahati city, you need to take Guwahati-Accoland-Rani Road. After that, you need to go along Garopara Road and Mirza-Rajapara Road until you reach Bokdobha Chowk. From there, you turn right towards Palashbari-Mirza-Loharghat-Rajapara-Chandubi Road. You go along this route for 15 km. You will reach Chandubi Lake. This route will take almost 1.5 hours.

Kopili Picnic Spot

It is the most popular picnic spot near Rani, Assam. Through this place, the Kopili River flows by. As the water flows through the ups and downs of small and big stones, the Kopili River creates a mesmerising view. Being the most popular, it is very much crowded and poorly managed. Like other places in Rani, it has also waterfalls. It can also visit Garbhanga Forest Reserve as it is nearby.

Best Time To Visit Kopili Picnic Spot: The best time is the summer months or monsoon period as the Kopili River flows swiftly carrying rainwater from the Meghalaya plateau. Avoid visiting this place during winter (December-January). People make this place utter garbage by partying and picnicking.

How To Reach: It is 28 km from Lokhra Chariali and can be reached via Accoland-Rani Road. It is one of the nearest picnic places near Guwahati.
